The QuilScene

Pearl of the peninsula

A quaint village nestled between the majestic Olympic Mountains and Hood Canal.

Quilcene, a quiet rural village along mile 294 of US Highway 101, rests at the foot of the Olympic Mountains at the head of Hood Canal, Quilcene Bay. It has been home to the world-famous Quilcene oyster farms for over 100 years.

Quilcene’s tranquil location attracts musicians and artists, hikers and campers, devoted gardeners, people who love to fish, clam, and crab, and those who simply treasure serenity.

You will find Seven Monkeys Gallery, the magnificent Worthington Park and Historical Museum, Midori and Serendipity Farms, Gear Head Deli (smoking their own meats and cheeses), two stores offering plenty of hot take-out, and Quilbilly’s for draft beer and lunch.

There are three coffee/espresso places and as many parks. Take your snack for a hike up Walker Mountain, a stroll through Worthington Park by the river, a visit to the Herb Beck Marina and beach in the sun, or a wander along Quilcene Gardens’ pathways next to Quilcene Gallery. There’s plenty to do!
